IdP migration is the process of moving customer authentication from an existing identity provider to a new one, so the new product becomes the system that authenticates customer sign in going forward.

Do customers notice when their identity provider changes?
Not if the migration uses just-in-time migration or bulk import with password hashes. Both let customers sign in with their registered credentials, with no password reset required.
Can the old identity provider stay active during the transition?
Yes. With just-in-time migration, we recommend keeping the legacy system active for at least 60 to 90 days while customers transition, then decommissioning it once migration is substantially complete.
